At BrushMint ("we", "our", or "us"), your privacy is a top priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application BrushMint (the "App"), available on iOS and Android platforms.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Profile Information: When you create a profile, we collect your name, date of birth (for age-appropriate content), and avatar selection. This data is stored locally on your device.
  • Contact Information: If you contact us via the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Usage Data: We collect brushing session data (duration, frequency, dental zones brushed, streaks) to provide statistics and improve your experience. This data is stored locally on your device.
  • Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for analytics and app functionality.
  • Advertising Data: With your consent, we use advertising identifiers for personalized ads via Google AdMob and Meta (Facebook) SDK.

1.3 iCloud Backup

  • If you enable cloud backup, your profile and brushing data is stored in your personal iCloud account via iCloud Documents. We do not have access to this data — it is controlled entirely by Apple and your Apple ID.

  • To provide and maintain the App's core functionality (brushing timer, tracking, statistics).
  • To personalize your experience with age-appropriate content and themes.
  • To display advertisements (free tier) using Google AdMob.
  • To process in-app purchases and subscriptions via Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and RevenueCat.
  • To respond to your inquiries when you contact us.
  • To improve the App through aggregated, anonymized analytics.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your personal data (profiles, brushing history, preferences) is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms. If you enable iCloud backup, data is stored in your personal iCloud account under Apple's security infrastructure.

We do not store your personal brushing data on our servers. Contact form submissions are processed via email and are not stored in any database.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect any information we process, but no electronic transmission or storage method is 100% secure.

BrushMint is designed to be used by families, including children. We take children's privacy very seriously:

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction) without parental consent.
  • Children's profiles are created and managed by the parent/guardian who owns the device.
  • All children's data is stored locally on the parent's device or in the parent's iCloud account.
  • We do not serve personalized ads to users identified as children.
  • If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your data. Since most data is stored locally, you can delete it by removing your profiles or uninstalling the App.
  • Opt-Out of Tracking: You can opt out of ad tracking through your device settings or the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS.
  • Data Portability: Export your data via the iCloud backup feature.
  • Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for data processing at any time through your device settings.

7. Advertising and Tracking

The free version of BrushMint displays advertisements via Google AdMob. We request your consent before enabling ad tracking (via Apple's App Tracking Transparency on iOS).

Premium subscribers do not see any advertisements. You can upgrade to Premium at any time to remove all ads.

You can reset your advertising identifier or limit ad tracking through your device settings at any time.

8. Data Retention

Since your data is stored locally on your device, it persists as long as the App is installed. If you uninstall the App, all local data is deleted. iCloud backup data persists in your iCloud account until you manually delete it.

Contact form communications are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry.

If you use the App from outside the country where our services are hosted, your information may be transferred internationally. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers in compliance with applicable laws.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
